DomusVi opens its first residence in the province of Tarragona. The new center, DomusVi Tarragona Ciutat, was inaugurated today on Mercè Rodoreda Street in the presence of local authorities and company representatives. With this opening, the group strengthens its expansion in Catalonia, present in all provinces with a total of 11 centers under its own management, thus affirming its commitment to the well-being and active social life of older people.

The event was attended by Mònica Alabart i Calvó, Director of Territorial Services for Social Rights and Inclusion in Tarragona. On behalf of DomusVi, the following were present: Agustina Minguella, Center Director; Alberto Sarmini, Territorial Director for Catalonia; Joaquina Mozas, Director of Operations for the Eastern Region; David Schuller, Corporate Director of Operations; and José María Pena, General Director of DomusVi. This new residence has 140 spaces and over 1,000 square meters of garden areas and outdoor terraces. It will offer different types of stay (permanent or temporary), as well as 20 places in a day center. The center is expected to create 90 jobs, thus promoting employment generation and local economic development in Catalonia, where the company already employs over 3,600 professionals, making it a benchmark in the community's social and health sector.

Regarding its facilities, it offers single and double rooms, organized into independent living units with private living and dining areas, thus ensuring personalized attention. It also has common areas that encourage socialization, a gym, a cafeteria, and an in-house kitchen.

DomusVi believes that older people should be able to freely decide where to live and how to age, according to their personal preferences, their family environment, and their social connections. 'This center becomes a key piece of our expansion plan in Catalonia. With the opening of this center, DomusVi strengthens its presence in the province of Tarragona, where we have already demonstrated our commitment to quality care for the elderly,' says José María Pena, General Manager of DomusVi Spain. For his part, Alberto Sarmini, Territorial Director in Catalonia, states that 'DomusVi Tarragona Ciutat not only responds to a growing social need, but also offers a human, person-centered approach, where the quality of life and respect for the autonomy of our residents are a priority.'

Care with a Human Approach

The new DomusVi Tarragona Ciutat center will operate according to its Person-Centered Care (PCC) model, which places each resident at the center of their own life, recognizing that each person is unique. This approach is based on in-depth knowledge of the individual and values their life experience, collaboratively defining, with their loved ones, a personalized care plan based on their preferences, interests, and needs, adapting to each moment of life.

'DomusVi Tarragona Ciutat is not just a new residence; it is a center designed with an innovative and human approach that promotes socialization and well-being. This center was created to offer a person-centered care model, because for us, each resident is unique,' emphasizes Agustina Minguella, Director of DomusVi Tarragona. According to Mònica Alabart i Calvó, director of the Territorial Services for Social Rights and Inclusion in Tarragona: 'This new facility must be much more than a building. It must be a home where residents find professional attention, human warmth, and the respect they deserve. From the Generalitat of Catalonia, we want this residence to be a home full of life, respect, and esteem, to accompany the elderly with the same devotion with which they have accompanied so many lives over the years.'

The specialized team at DomusVi Tarragona Ciutat supports each person in their daily lives, fostering their independence through meaningful activities and emotional support. The center encourages connection with the community through open proposals and local collaborations, in an environment designed to protect privacy and foster relationships. Daily life at this center is focused on the continuity of the life project in a safe and welcoming space, where people feel 'at home.'
