DomusVi officially recognises the vital role played by families, in the well-being and quality of life of senior citizens, by including them in its governance.

Families are already so much involved in the life and projects of establishments, and DomusVi wanted to encourage this dynamic and legitimise their role by creating the National Families Council in France. This independent consultative body is made up of 25 members, selected by lottery, who are appointed for two years. The National Families Council has its own budget.

Through this council, DomusVi involves families in its governance and expects their contribution, particularly in three main areas:

  • Expressing families's expectations in order to improve the DomusVi's offer.
  • Supporting the involvement of elderly people and their relatives in the life of the structures in order to improve quality.
  • Helping to develop tools and services to improve relations between the elderly, their families and professionals.

The National Family Council will work closely with the various Social Life Councils present in each establishment and involved in residence's running.
For Sylvain Rabuel, Chairman of the DomusVi Group, involving families in the Group's governance expresses the importance attached to them: 'By recognising and strengthening their involvement at all levels, they will be more than ever committed partners in the support of their loved ones, alongside the entire community of DomusVi professionals'.
