Living better, every day
From 8 to 10 July, the Aix-en-Provence Economic Meetings will take place: three days of debates on the world’s major economic, political and social issues. DomusVi will be a partner of the event for the third time, and Sylvain Rabuel, President of the Group, will take part in a round table on the theme “Living better, living longer”.
For this 22nd edition, the Cercle des Économistes is proposing an ambitious theme: successfully transforming the world. No fewer than 61 sessions are planned to explore this topic from social, environmental, industrial and technological perspectives, as well as from the viewpoints of youth, business, international relations and health.
Among the announced debates, the session entitled “Living better, living longer” will take place on Saturday, 9 July at 8:50 a.m. Sylvain Rabuel will speak alongside Bruno Angles, Chief Executive Officer of AG2R La Mondiale, Elsa Fornero, Professor of Economics at the University of Turin, Robert Leblanc, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Aon France and Chairman of Aon EMEA, and Magda Tomasini, Director of the French National Institute for Demographic Studies. The debates will be moderated by Philippe Trainar, member of the Cercle des Économistes.
We all aspire to live better, but this notion remains subjective and covers different realities depending on each person’s situation and aspirations. More than quantitative elements such as GDP growth, living better is based more on qualitative criteria. It also relies on concrete dimensions such as limiting exposure to risks, living an active and fulfilling life, enjoying a longer healthy life expectancy, and receiving better support during periods of dependency. The speakers will discuss needs, how well they are being met, and the measures that could be implemented to achieve a better life in old age.
Alongside this round table, Sylvain Rabuel will take part in a dialogue with a panel of young people selected from among the 120 students chosen based on their applications, as part of the 10th edition of “La Parole aux 18-28”. This programme, organised in partnership with France Culture, provides a unique space for young people to express themselves.
