At the nursing home ! : the 2027 presidential candidates face the unfiltered questions of our seniors.

DomusVi is pleased to announce the launch of “At the Nursing Home!”, a programme produced by Au Tableau Productions, in partnership with Public Sénat and the regional newspaper Ouest-France, in the run-up to the 2027 French presidential election.

The concept is simple: for around 26 minutes, leading presidential candidates answer questions from our residents. Honest, unscripted conversations where insight sometimes meets impertinence.

Why is DomusVi a partner of this programme ?

Because we firmly believe that citizenship does not stop at the doors of our residences.

Our teams already support residents who wish to vote. With “At the Nursing Home!”, we are also giving them the opportunity to make their voices heard in the public debate.

“Civic engagement and democratic participation do not stop at the doors of our residences. At DomusVi, we work every day to ensure that residents are able to exercise their right to vote, whether by organizing transportation to polling stations or facilitating proxy voting. With ‘At the Nursing Home!’, a completely new and innovative programme, we are taking this commitment one step further by offering residents a direct platform to make their voices heard by those who aspire to lead the country tomorrow.”

For the first episodes, residents from Suresnes, Garches, Clichy and Aubervilliers gathered at the Tiers Temps DomusVi residence in Suresnes. They interviewed Gabriel Attal and Xavier Bertrand on topics including security, education, end-of-life issues, Europe, sexuality, artificial intelligence and, of course, proposals concerning older people. Their questions and freedom of expression are what give the programme its unique strength.

The origin of the concept, Caroline Delage, a member of the DomusVi Corporate Foundation Board of Directors since its creation in 2022, has long explored the ties between generations. Her documentary series Une vie d’écart (Canal+) brought together kindergarten children and nonagenarians living in care homes. Following Ramène ton vieux, she now invites political figures to step into a nursing home and engage directly with older people.

“‘At the Nursing Home!’ is the younger sibling of ‘Au Tableau!’, the programme I imagined, created and launched more than ten years ago and which is now adapted in around a dozen countries. This new format creates an equally spontaneous and unfiltered encounter between candidates for the next presidential election and older people. Faced with these unexpected interviewers, political leaders reveal a different side of themselves and offer much more than carefully crafted campaign messages. I have always been committed to shining a light on ageing and older adults. The figures speak for themselves: seniors vote far more than younger generations. A nursing home should be a place of life that remains open to society, not a place isolated from it. For that reason, partnering with DomusVi, France’s leading private operator in the sector, was an obvious choice.”

Further episodes will be filmed in our residences across France, featuring personalities from different political backgrounds.
