Alternative, more institutional: Long-Term Care Home Funding and Pricing: Time to Simplify the System
Sylvain Rabuel Addresses the 2026 National EHPAD Conference

Should the EPRD be abolished ? Should healthcare and dependency funding be merged into a single allocation ? Should CPOMs be simplified, or even removed altogether ? These were among the very practical questions debated during this year’s conference, with a shared objective: reducing the administrative burden on nursing home directors so they can focus on what truly matters, supporting residents.

Over two days of discussions, participants challenged ideas against real-world experience, explored key issues facing the sector, and gained a deeper understanding of how its future is being shaped. Every year, DomusVi takes part in these discussions to represent the voice of professionals and contribute to these essential reflections.

Alongside Jean-Benoît Dujol (Director General for Social Cohesion – DGCS), Sébastien Vincini (President of the Haute-Garonne Departmental Council), Delphine Langlet (Chief Executive Officer of Fondation Partage et Vie), Emmanuel Sys (Chief Executive Officer of the Public Nursing Homes GCSMS of Val-de-Marne) and Valérie Lespez, Sylvain Rabuel paid tribute to and thanked all the professionals working in French nursing homes who remained mobilised during the heatwaves and wildfires that marked the summer. He also reaffirmed that the nursing home model is efficient, protective and resilient.
