Our Professional Ethics Committees

DomusVi’s Professional Ethics Committees, established in France and Spain, support our teams in reflecting on the ethical dilemmas they may face in their daily work. Their mission is to ensure high quality care, strengthen trust between all stakeholders, and uphold the Group’s values.

Their missions

  • – Promote ethical reflection within facilities and home care services.
  • – Disseminate and uphold the Group’s values.
  • – Develop reference documents and good practice protocols.
  • – Prevent conflictual situations.
  • – Foster a relationship of trust around the person being supported.
  • – Contribute to DomusVi’s commitment to sustainable development.

A structured and multidisciplinary organisation

Created in 2005 in Spain and in 2017 in France, the Committees bring together professionals representing our activities, roles, and generations.
They report to the Country Executive Committees and are chaired by Francesc Torralba, Professor of Philosophy at the University of Barcelona.
All members receive training on key ethical issues: end‑of‑life, vulnerability, justice, deontological principles, care ethics, and transhumanism.

Supporting teams through ethical guidance

When a sensitive situation is identified, teams submit a “case report form”. The Committee then opens a multidisciplinary reflection and issues a consultative opinion.
