This morning, the DomusVi Group, along with 32 other companies, signed the first inter-company commitment agreement at the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Recovery, concerning the role of employees over 50 years of age in the workplace. This initiative was launched by the L’Or\u00e9al Group and the Club Landoy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under the High Patronage of Olivia Gr\u00e9goire, Secretary of State for Social, Solidarity and Responsible Economy, this groundbreaking initiative comprises 10 key commitments focusing on recruitment, training, job retention, career development support, workplace well-being, retirement planning, and raising awareness about age-related stereotypes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The employment of people over 50 in companies requires special attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By 2035, 50% of the population in Europe will be over 45 years old, and 70% of the jobs that will exist then don’t even exist today. As careers become longer, companies have a responsibility to invest more in training and developing the skills of their employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 32 companies that signed this pioneering agreement are committed to further developing their work on this issue, either by enhancing existing programs or by creating new ones. Through a collaborative and participatory approach, they will share best practices and meet annually to report on the progress of their initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Olivia Gr\u00e9goire, Secretary of State to the Minister of Economy, Finance and Recovery, in charge of Social, Solidarity and Responsible Economy: “In 2050, one in three French people will be over 65 years old. This ongoing demographic shift must be accompanied by a collective reflection on the role of seniors in our society: this is a key issue for intergenerational cohesion. The final years of employment can be crucial moments for knowledge transfer and can enhance employee cohesion around a shared company vision that is relevant to everyone, regardless of age. That is why I commend the commitment of these 31 pioneering companies, whose initiatives will help us move beyond preconceived ideas and open up concrete opportunities for our older citizens.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sibylle Le Maire, Executive Director of the Bayard Group and founder of the Club Landoy, adds: \u201cThe demographic transition will transform our society and challenges the social contract between generations. Managing age diversity in the workplace and adapting to an aging population are major challenges, and age discrimination is likely to affect us all. This discrimination undermines access to rights in many areas, whether it be employment, training, or healthcare. Anticipating and managing this transition together is the core mission of the Club Landoy, which brings together 15 pioneering companies. We must act now. That is why we are launching this initiative and are proud to sign this agreement.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recruit individuals at all stages of their careers, offering opportunities throughout their professional lives to ensure everyone can work in an inclusive environment until retirement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Promote the sharing of knowledge and experience between generations by implementing dedicated programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Recognize and value experienced employees, highlight inspiring career paths and role models to change perceptions about age discrimination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Provide tailored and personalized support on health and well-being at work throughout employees’ careers*.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Support and assist employees who are caregivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pay particular attention to preparing for and supporting retirement (transition programs). Upon retirement, thank employees by celebrating and acknowledging their contributions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After retirement, for those who wish to remain connected, the company can offer opportunities to stay involved, such as through an alumni network, or encourage participation in community activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
